So I Think I Found the Best Pet Hair Vacuum!
Hi guys! SO excited to be back with another blog for you!
As you know, I run a busy hair parlor. What you might not know is that I work literally downstairs from where I sleep. That’s right, my salon is my downstairs, and then I basically have an upstairs apartment where I live when I’m not at an appointment.
There are some serious perks to being a small business owner and working from home, don’t get me wrong. I schedule my appointments, I don’t have to deal with coworkers, and I don’t have to think about whether the people running the salon will treat me decently. But the biggest downside aside from the high taxes so far is the fact that I have to clean up everything myself, which I didn’t have to do when I worked at bigger salons with a dedicated janitor.
I had the hardest time getting a vacuum that would make an easy job of dealing with all the hair on my floors in the parlor. As much as I try to sweep most of it before I vacuum, there’s always a bunch that goes in the cracks. I also have a tabby cat upstairs who produces her own fur balls full time while I’m working downstairs.
I’ve had the longest quest to find something good that would work upstairs and downstairs as well, because I had this upright thing for my apartment that wouldn’t work on the hardwood floors downstairs, and it was awkward and heavy anyway. So for the past few months I’ve been looking for an all-in-one solution.
I went through one bagless vacuum before I realized that when you’d vacuum up beard trimmings and shaved hairs from men’s cuts, they would all come out in a big cloud when you tried to empty the canister. So, I started looking for vacuums with bags that would solve the problem.
I went through literally three different vacuums before I started asking around for recommendations from clients, and one of them said she had this amazing little German vacuum that her mother gave her for Christmas one year, called a Miele, and she said it was the best she’d ever used. So, I looked up reviews for them online, and I read on bestpethairvacuum.reviews that it was super good for pets and for vacuuming up hair, which ticked both of my boxes right off the bat.
Anyway, I ended up getting one that’s called a Titan. It has two big floor attachments. One is a fluffy brush (literally the softest I have ever felt on a vacuum), and the other is a motor head for dealing with my upstairs carpets, which are like 70% tabby hair at this point. It’s seriously the best purchase I’ve made in the time since I started the shop.
It gets hair in super easily, and I was surprised as well by how much it fits in a bag. I can go a few days without changing them, which for a hair parlor is pretty darn impressive. I think it’s because the vacuum force is so much that it packs down the stuff in the bag, but I’m just guessing. It’s also really quiet, which, as someone who works with buzzers and blow dryers all day, I really appreciate. If you’re interested, you can look at the review here. Honestly, the power is the most impressive thing to me. I hate having to chase hair around the floors and under the chairs, which is something I used to have to do with old vacuums. This one literally pulls the hair over to me from like 6 inches away, which is so nice. It’s made cleaning up at the end of the day probably twice as fast, and definitely a lot more pleasant.
I know this is probably the most mundane thing to read on a hair blog, but I’m personally a total clean freak, so vacuums are super important to me. Hopefully this is helpful to you, especially if you have pets living with you!
